About Ripley Parish Council
Ripley lies to the north-east of Guildford and is bypassed by the A3, which helps preserve its rural character. The parish has an estimated population of around 2,000 residents. Much of the village has been designated a Conservation Area by Guildford Borough Council, and it retains a wealth of historic buildings.
Historically, Ripley served as a significant stopping point for naval officers travelling from the Admiralty to the Royal Dockyard in Portsmouth. Today, the village supports a vibrant local economy, with a mix of small shops, light industry, restaurants, and public houses.
Several events are held on the large village Green including a thriving monthly Farmers’ Market, the Annual Bonfire Celebration and Firework Display and the Ripley Event held in July. The village hosts an annual Christmas Fair on the first Sunday in December, with all proceeds going towards the festive lights
