As this may be the nearest Primary School to Ripley we would encourage anyone interested to look at the information and submit your feedback.

Questions asked on the feedback form are –
* What are your overall thoughts on the proposed school?
* Do you have any comments on the design and appearance of the building?
* Do you have any comments on the outdoor areas and site layout?
* What more could Taylor Wimpey introduce to promote sustainable modes of transportation to the Primary School and Nursery?
* Is there anything else you would like us to consider?

One of our Cllrs attended a community meeting with TW last week and some key points/ answers to questions asked are below.

Phasing

Trigger for School opening will be the 600th occupancy. This is expected to be between years 4 and 5 from first occupancy (first occupancy currently expected end of this calendar year, 2026).

Parking
– None for parents – raised as a potential issue particularly for any parents with mobility issues.
– Approx. 20 parking spaces for teachers and staff.
– No road access to the school except by special permit, the expectation is that pupils will cycle or take a bus
.- Parent parking (for drop-off/collections, parents evenings, sports matches, school performances etc) will generally need to be on local residential streets a short walk away from the school
.- There will be a town car park – not determined how big yet and in the centre of the development so not terribly close to the school

School design
– Consultation on the design of the school via the Wisley Airfield website from Monday 2nd March 2026 until 16th March 2026
.- Quite a long section of the meeting was dedicated to outlining the architectural design of the school, delivered by a representative of Pollard Thomas Edwards, the architectural practice.
– It is an industrial design, drawing from the building style of the original hangars sited on the airfield
– No solar panels, no green roofs – stated as too expensive to maintain
– School is sited next to 2 community playing field pitches and may potentially benefit from being able to access them.

Kind regards
