Ripley Parish Council has written to the Minister for Roads and Buses regarding the apparent omission of the Burntcommon slip roads from Road Investment Strategy 3.
For many years, these slip roads have been treated as an important part of the transport infrastructure needed to help manage traffic from major development in this corridor, including Wisley Airfield, Garlick’s Arch and other planned or emerging sites.
The Council is concerned that if this scheme has been removed, delayed or left uncertain, it could have significant implications for traffic through Ripley, Send, Send Marsh and Burntcommon.
The Parish Council has also requested a meeting with the Department for Transport, National Highways, Surrey County Council, Guildford Borough Council, Zöe Franklin MP and relevant parish councils to clarify the position.
